They call me Patty melt.

Patty Ringham is a wonderful woman. Smiling and happy she exudes a brightness that lights up those around her. Patty was married for thirty years and she and her husband raised 5 children together. She is now blessed to have 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Patty lived a full and happy life raising her family. As time went on, Patty’s husband of 30 years passed on, and her children grew and had families of their own.  Unfortunately her health started failing and she moved into University Heights Health and Living Community two years ago.

“My arthritis got real bad and then I got Parkinson’s, she said, I fell and broke some bones.”  “My family said I needed around the clock care,” she went on, “they checked on facilities and we decided that University Heights was the best.”

Patty began rehab and therapy at University Heights and soon regained her range of motion, and her strength, and was able to do more for herself. “They helped so much,” Patty said, “I wanted to be independent, I realized I couldn’t, and this place is great.”

Patty is a big fan of the activities available to her. “I love Bible study on Wednesday,” she said. “Bingo and crazy casino are some of my favorite activities too.” “The activity ladies keep us busy.” “Debbie and Vicky are wonderful, and they are so friendly and helpful.”

Patty is part of the family at University Heights. She even got a nickname. “They call me Patty melt.
